STM32F042C6U6 Product Overview

The STM32F042C6U6 microcontroller features a high-performance ARM® Cortex®-M0 32-bit RISC core running at up to 48 MHz frequency, high-speed embedded storage (up to 32 Kbytes of Flash memory and 6 Kbytes of SRAM), and a wide variety of improved peripherals and I/Os. All of the devices provide the industry-standard interfaces for communication, including one I2C, two SPIs/one I2S, one HDMI CEC, two USARTs, one CAN, one 12-bit ADC, four 16-bit timers, one 32-bit timer, and one advanced-control PWM timer.

 

When powered by a 2.0 to 3.6 V power source, the STM32F042C6U6 microcontroller can function in temperature ranges of -40 to +85 °C and -40 to +105 °C. The development of low-power applications is made possible by a wide range of power-saving modes.

 

Devices for the STM32F042C6U6 microcontroller are available in seven different packages, with pin counts ranging from 20 to 48. A die form is also available upon request. There are several sets of peripherals included depending on the device selected.

 

 

Video Description: The STM32 series is based on the ARM Cortex architectures. Specifically, we’ll be looking at the STM32 Arm Cortex-M microcontrollers. To make life easier, we’ll be using STMicroelectronics’ official Nucleo development boards (the Nucleo-L476RG in particular).

 

In this video, we install the STM32CubeIDE and write a simple C program that blinks an LED. We will be using ST’s Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) to make controlling pins easier and code more portable. Finally, we briefly look at how to use the built-in step-through debugger with STM32CubeIDE.
