nRF2401 FAQ

Product Overview

nRF2401 is a single-chip radio transceiver for the world wide 2.4 - 2.5 GHz ISM band. The transceiver consists of a fully integrated frequency synthesizer, a power amplifier, a crystal oscillator and a modulator. Output power and frequency channels are easily programmable by use of the 3-wire serial interface. Current consumption is very low, only 10.5mA at an output power of -5dBm and 18mA in receive mode. Built-in Power Down modes makes power saving easily realizable.

nRF2401 FAQ

What does a WIFI transceiver do?

The main functionality of this electronic device is to transmit, as well as receive, different signals. In local area networks, the transceiver is a part of the network interface card. It can both transmit signals over the network wire and detect electrical signals flowing through the wire.

What is the difference between transceiver and modem?

A modem is similar to a transceiver, in that it sends and receives a signal, but a modem uses modulation and demodulation. It modulates a signal being transmitted and demodulates a signal which is received. In a radio transceiver, the receiver is silenced while transmitting.

What is difference between transceiver and antenna?

RF transceivers are those which receive and demodulate the radio signals. It then modulated to receive new signals. RF transceivers made up of an antenna which receives transmitted signals and a tuner is used for separation of specific signal from all of the other signals that is received by the antenna.
