BQ32000DR Product Overview

A compatible alternative to real-time clocks that are accepted as industry standards is the BQ32000DR device.

 

The BQ32000DR has an integrated trickle charger and automated backup supply. A capacitor or non-rechargeable battery can be used to power the backup supply. The BQ32000DR's calibration adjustment ranges from -63 ppm to +126 ppm and is programmable. Both a STOP bit that enables the host CPU to turn off the RTC oscillator and an OF (oscillator fail) flag are included in the BQ32000DR registers. To avoid a timing error, the time registers are typically updated once every second, simultaneously updating all registers. Leap-year compensation is automatically applied in the BQ32000DR.
