Product Overview

The STM32F103xC, STM32F103xD and STM32F103xE performance line family incorporates the high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M3 32-bit RISC core operating at a 72 MHz frequency, high-speed embedded memories (Flash memory up to 512 Kbytes and SRAM up to 64 Kbytes), and an extensive range of enhanced I/Os and peripherals connected to two APB buses. All devices offer three 12-bit ADCs, four general-purpose 16- bit timers plus two PWM timers, as well as standard and advanced communication interfaces: up to two I2Cs, three SPIs, two I2Ss, one SDIO, five USARTs, an USB and a CAN. The STM32F103xC/D/E high-density performance line family operates in the –40 to +105 °C temperature range, from a 2.0 to 3.6 V power supply. A comprehensive set of power-saving mode allows the design of low-power applications. These features make the STM32F103xC/D/E high-density performance line microcontroller family suitable for a wide range of applications such as motor drives, application control, medical and handheld equipment, PC and gaming peripherals, GPS platforms, industrial applications, PLCs, inverters, printers, scanners, alarm systems video intercom, and HVAC.

STM32F103RET6 Manufacturer

STMicroelectronics is a French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductors manufacturer headquartered in Plan-les-Ouates near Geneva, Switzerland. The company resulted from the merger of two government-owned semiconductor companies in 1987: "Thomson Semiconducteurs" of France and "SGS Microelettronica" of Italy. It is commonly called "ST", and it is Europe's largest semiconductor chip maker based on revenue. While STMicroelectronics corporate headquarters and the headquarters for EMEA region are based in the Canton of Geneva, the holding company, STMicroelectronics N.V. is incorporated in the Netherlands.

STM32F103RET6 FAQ

What are embedded microprocessors?

Embedded microprocessors are computer chips used inside devices other than computers to provide added functionality, often in the areas of control and monitoring. Processors for PCs, workstations and servers get all the attention, but embedded microprocessors make the world go round.

What is the difference between embedded system and microcontroller?

Embedded systems are generally more basic and rudimentary than microcontrollers since they often do not have logic to run the system. Once the CPU tells the microcontroller to do something the microcontroller then directs the components of the embedded system to execute its specific tasks.

Which microcontroller is mostly used?

The MSP430 family of microcontrollers from TI are considered as some of the most modern microcontrollers and the most popular member of that family so far has been the MSP430G2452. The MSP430G2452 is a powerful, and relatively cheap microcontroller based on a 16-bit RISC CPU manufactured by Texas Instruments.
