LF353N FAQ

Product Overview

These circuits are high speed JFET input dual operational amplifiers incorporating well matched, high voltage JFET and bipolar transistors in a monolithic integrated circuit.

The devices feature high slew rates, low input bias and offset currents, and low offset voltage temperature coefficient.

LF353N Video Description: In this video you will learn how JFET work as an Amplifier. JFET Amplifier operation is easily explained by Dr Mayur Gondalia. There are three configurations of JFET Amplifier:

  1. Common Source JFET Amplifier Configuration
  2. Common Gate JFET Amplifier Configuration
  3. Common Drain JFET Amplifier Configuration

In this video very popular common source JFET amplifier configuration is explained in details.

LF353N Manufacturer

STMicroelectronics is a French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductors manufacturer headquartered in Plan-les-Ouates near Geneva, Switzerland. The company resulted from the merger of two government-owned semiconductor companies in 1987: "Thomson Semiconducteurs" of France and "SGS Microelettronica" of Italy. It is commonly called "ST", and it is Europe's largest semiconductor chip maker based on revenue. While STMicroelectronics corporate headquarters and the headquarters for EMEA region are based in the Canton of Geneva, the holding company, STMicroelectronics N.V. is incorporated in the Netherlands.

LF353N FAQ

What is JFET input?

The JFET-input and CMOS amplifiers' inputs are connected with the gates of the input differential pair transistors, which causes very small bias currents in the range of few picoamperes. Current-sensing applications measure the voltage drop caused by current flowing through a shunt resistor.

How do JFETs work?

A JFET is a three terminal semiconductor device in which current conduction is by one type of carrier i.e. electrons or holes. The current conduction is controlled by means of an electric field between the gate and the conducting channel of the device. The JFET has high input impedance and low noise level.

What does a FET amp do?

A FET amplifier is an amplifier that uses one or more field-effect transistors (FETs). The most common type of FET amplifier is the MOSFET amplifier, which uses metal–oxide–semiconductor FETs (MOSFETs). The main advantage of a FET used for amplification is that it has very high input impedance and low output impedance.
