The ADS1013, ADS1014, and ADS1015 devices (ADS101x) are precision, low-power, 12-bit, I2Ccompatible, analog-to-digital converters  (ADCs) offered in an ultra-small, leadless, X2QFN-10 package, and a VSSOP  -10 package. The ADS101x devices incorporate a low-drift voltage reference and an oscillator  . The ADS1014 and ADS1015 also incorporate a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and a digital comparator  . These features, along with a wide operating supply range, make the ADS101x well suited for power- and space-constrained, sensor measurement applications.

ADS1015 Video Description: This is a video on the ADS1015. The ADS1015 is an ADC which resolves to 12 bits of resolution, so providing 4096 counts to resolve to. 2048 of those are minus and 2048 are plus values. The ADC also includes a powerful and useful built in gain controller  which can be programmed using Arduino Studio!

Is ADC analog or digital?

An ADC carries out two processes, sampling and quantization. The ADC represents an analog signal, which has infinite resolution, as a digital code that has finite resolution. The ADC produces 2N digital values where N represents the number of binary output bits.

 

What is analog to digital converter examples?

For example a 4-bit ADC will have a resolution of one part in 15, (24 – 1) whereas an 8-bit ADC will have a resolution of one part in 255, (28 – 1). Thus an analogue to digital converter takes an unknown continuous analogue signal and converts it into an “n”- bit binary number of 2n bits.

 

What is ADC and DAC?

An ADC takes an analog signal and converts it into a binary one, while a DAC converts a binary signal into an analog value.
