Infineon Launched New EiceDRIVER Gate Drive IC

Infineon Technologies Co., Ltd. launched a new EiceDRIVER™ 2EDL8 gate drive IC product series, in order to meet the growing demand for DC-DC telecom bricks for mobile network infrastructure equipment.

Infineon New Launch IC

These dual-channel junction isolated gate drive ICs can provide isolated DC-DC buck converters/telecommunications bricks with high power density, high efficiency and durability, helping to build macro base stations for 5G and LTE telecom infrastructure equipment.

The new 2EDL8 series includes four versions, divided into two different pull-up currents and two different input configurations. The 3A (ampere) version is suitable for retrofit design, and the industry-leading 4A (ampere) version is suitable for reducing MOSFET switching losses.

The dual channels of 2EDL802x can operate independently. It is an ideal choice for the primary side diagonal drive full bridge and the secondary side synchronous rectifier stage to reduce freewheeling losses. 2EDL812x adopts a differential input structure and built-in shoot-through protection. It is the perfect choice for non-diagonal driving of the primary side half-bridge stage of the DC-DC brick converter.

2EDL8 has an integrated 120V bootstrap diode and precise channel-to-channel propagation delay matching (typical value ± 2 ns). All products in this series adopt PG-VDSON-8 leadless package and pin output that meet industry standards.

All four product versions of the EiceDRIVER 2EDL series are now available.
