Intel: No. 1 Global Semiconductor Company Sales 2020

Recently, market research company Gartner announced the 2020 global semiconductor company sales data and the world's top ten semiconductor manufacturers list. From the data point of view, the total sales of the global semiconductor industry in 2020 reached 449.8 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.3% year-on-year. Among them, memory semiconductors accounted for 44% of the increase, and NAND flash memory sales were $52.8 billion.

On the specific ranking, Intel firmly occupies the top position with 15.6% market share and $7,024.4 billion in sales, increased by 3.7% year-on-year; Samsung Electronics has semiconductor sales of $5,619.7 billion, an increase of 7.7% over 2019, with a market share of 12.5%. Qualcomm, MediaTek and Nvidia, as we know them, were ranked 5th, 8th and 10th, with their sales reaching $17,906, $11,008 and $10,095, respectively.

It is worth noting that among the top 10 semiconductor manufacturers, the largest year-on-year increase was MediaTek, whose 2020 revenue grew 38.3% year-on-year to reach $11,008, which was unexpected by many. But today is different, last year MediaTek launched a series of mid-range and high-end chips such as Dimensity 800, Dimensity 820, Dimensity 1000 + , 800U, etc. These chips have gained a good reputation in the market.  In this way, it is not surprising that MediaTek can achieve today's progress.
