The CS5161/5161H are 5-bit synchronous dual N-Channel buck controllers designed to provide unprecedented transient response for today's demanding high-density, high-speed logic. They operate using a proprietary control method which allows 100 ns response time to load transients. The CS5161 is designed to operate over 9-16 V range (VCC) using V to power the IC and V as the main supply for conversion. The CS5161H operates from 12 V input as the main supply for conversion using a discrete charge pump circuit to provide 20 V for VCC2 and high side gate drive. The CS5161/5161H are specifically designed to power Pentium III processors and other high performance core logic. They include the following features: on board 5-bit DAC, short circuit protection, 1.0% output tolerance, VCC monitor, and programmable Soft Start capability. The CS5161/5161H are available in 16 pin surface mount packages.
